Home to some of the most beautiful and well-known islands in all of Southeast Asia, Thailand is an island mecca with the most famous one is Phuket. It is the biggest and busiest island in Thailand offering a mix of vibrant nightlife, burstling markets and pristine shores. Patong and Kata are the most popular beaches in the island attracting sun-seekers and water sports enthusiasts from all corners of the globe. Quite similar to Phuket, Koh Samui features stunning white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, together with numerous luxurious resorts, boutique hotels, and budget-friendly accommodations catering to all kinds of travelers. Visitors to Koh Samui can enjoy a range of activities, from beach hopping and snorkelling to hiking and exploring the island's many temples and waterfalls. Beside the two busiest islands, there are tons of other islands in Thailand to go to such as Krabi, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, Koh Lanta... While some are pretty quiet, peaceful, away from tourists and not explored much, others are well known for their diving spots and wild parties.

With a lush tropical climate and miles of coastline, Indonesia is the world’s ultimate beach destination. The beaches that line the shores of this enormous archipelago are famed for their black and golden sands, epic surf breaks, prismatic coral reefs and wild seaside parties. Among over 17,000 islands of the country, Bali is the most popular one with a vast selection of beautiful beaches such as Nusa Dua, Seminyak, Kuta, Nyang Nyang... ideal for sunbathing and water sports. As home to some enchanting beaches with magical pink sands such as Komodo Island, the iconic pink beach there leaves visitors mesmerised by the salmon-coloured sands and the turquoise water. Alongside sunbathing on the soft sand, one can enjoy watersports like scuba diving and snorkelling, where you can marvel at the stunning tropical fish and vibrant coral reefs.

Also in the Southeast Asia's list of top beach destinations, Malaysia is blessed with so much coastline along both the Peninsula and Borneo dwelling a huge range of amazing islands together with some of the best beaches in the area. Located in Langkawi island, Pantai Cenang is the most popular beach in Malaysia with plenty of options for food and drink literally steps away from the beach. The white-sand beach plus the relatively calm waters make it a very family-friendly destination. Off the northeastern coast of the mainland, the Perhentian islands, well known for their unspoiled beauty, are probably the most famous destination for a tropical island getaway in Malaysia. The smaller of the two main islands, Perhentian Kecil caters more towards backpackers, whilst neighboring Perhentian Besar is full of luxury resorts. Perhantian Kecil features a number of beautiful beaches, but none quite as good as the Long Beach. The sand at Long Beach is white and because the tide here maintains a low lever for quite a while, the water stays very shallow for a period providing a warm environment for swimming.

Beside the most popular beach destinations mentioned above, there are still many other places less crowded and more tranquil such as Sao, Mui Ne and An Bang beaches in Vietnam; Ream, Long Set and Lazy beaches in Cambodia; Ngapali and Ngwe Saung beaches in Myanmar suitable for a relaxation before ending a long vacation.
