What is Southeast Asia Adventure & Outdoor Tours?

Southeast Asia is the historical home of vast ancient kingdoms and empires, of diverse cultures and island nations. Thanks to the tropical climate, Southeast Asia has many breathtaking landscapes, dense jungles, stunning waterfalls and lush mountains ideal for adventure seekers. For outdoor activities, there are plenty one can try such as rock climbing, caving, hiking, cycling, underwater sports... All combine perfectly with the spectacular views and natural landscapes.

One of the best way to explore the natures and experience authentic local cultures is taking part in a rural hikes. Home to rugged mountain ranges, lush rainforests and remote hill tribes, northern Thailand offers numerous hiking adventures suitable for all ages and fitness levels. From this region, there is a picturesque boat connection between Chiang Rai (Thailand) and Luang Prabang (Laos) turns the hikes into a multi-country adventure. A multiple day hike between Inle Lake and Kalaw in Myanmar, known as one of the most favorite treks in Southeast Asia, will be a unique experience for travellers while acrossing remote hills and sleepy villages. Alternatively, one can spend a day exploring off-the-beaten-track in Pindaya, famous for its limestone caves, attractive lakeside setting and elusive hill-tribe villages.

For adventurers who want to get up higher for conquering some of the highest summits in Southeast Asia, Mount Kinabalu in Malaysian Borneo is definitely a bucket list goal. The smaller Mount Tahan, the highest peak on the Malaysian peninsula, is an equally tough and rugged peak to scale. With more than 130 volcanoes, Indonesia is a true paradise for mountaineers; Mount Rinjani, an active volcano in Lombok island, is the country’s second-highest peak and a steep three-day ascent to the top. Further to the west of Java island, Mount Ijen with the mesmerising sight of its sulphurous, turquoise crater lake can be climbed in a single day. Sitting amidst the “Sea of Sand”, Mount Bromo is a relatively easy trek, and the reward is its stunning beauty in an incredible setting.

Dwelling with colourful reefs, an abundance of marine life and crystal-clear waters, Southeast Asia is home to some supreme scuba diving and snorkelling spots. Among Indonesia’s bountiful diving spots, the Raja Ampat archipelago is one of the most destinations for its pristine reefs and rich biodiversity. For wall-diving with easy conditions, one can explore the underwater life of Menjangan Island, off Bali’s northwest coast, or swim with turtles at the famous Gili Islands, a set of three picturesque islets in-between Bali and Lombok. In Thailand, the crystal-clear waters of the Similan Islands, home to Mu Ko Similan National Park, teem with a wide array of marine life. Along the coasts of the Surin Island National Marine Park, divers will find untouched coral reefs inhabited by barracudas, white tip reef sharks, and various other species. One of Southeast Asia’s best-kept diving secrets is the tropical paradise of Myanmar’s Mergui Archipelago. Boasting various excellent and little-explored diving spots, these stunning islands can easily be reached by boat from Thailand’s southern town of Rayong, ideal for a multi-country adventure.
